Welcome To The White Oak Volunteer Rescue Squad
When you call 9-1-1 to report an emergency in southern Stafford County, Virginia, the 9-1-1 operator could send you an ambulance belonging to the White Oak Volunteer Rescue Squad (WOVRS). The White Oak Volunteer Rescue Squad responds to calls when dispatched by the Stafford County Emergency Communications Center.
WOVRS offers its services as a part of the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department. WOVRS is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization partially supported by Stafford County Government, the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services, and by the gracious donations from the community that we serve.
Stafford County is located on the "Capital Edge" halfway between Washington, D.C. and the state capital of Richmond, Virginia. With a size of some 277 square miles, Stafford county is still mostly rural, but certain areas, particularly northern Stafford county have developed rapidly in recent years. Home to more than 134,000 people in Stafford's 600+ subdivisions and neighborhoods, the population we serve is as diverse as anywhere. WOVRS is one of 7 volunteer rescue squads serving the county. Our "first due" area comprises about 30 square miles of southeastern Stafford county. Depending on availability of other rescue squads, we also provide backup response to the entire county as well as King George county and the City of Fredericksburg.
Our rescue facility is located at 535 White Oak Road.
Our mailing address is 535 White Oak Road, Falmouth, Virginia, 22405
Our Phone Number is 540-658-5347, if an EMERGENCY PLEASE CALL 9-1-1
